I bought 2 TCL tvs and both spoilt within warranty period. I’m a super light user. It is a nightmare waiting for them to make good of their warranty where I’m still waiting after months! I have written emails to their company to no avail.
I used to watch Digital Trends but the Caleb situation turned me off to them. I found your channel. I want to thank you for your expertise, professionalism and for helping consumers decide on which tv to purchase.
The Hisense is $997 right now and the only things it’s within range of is the 2024 Oleds from LG and Samsung that are great choices. The TCL is $500 more. Hisense does have good warranty support as well, dealt with them once.
At $1k I’m using it over my oled and just loving the 3d depth it offers. My S90D has great colors but you know when the whole screen dims several notches, not often but never. It also just can reproduce what Hisense and seeming TCL from this video can bring with the depth to the picture.
When it comes to overall audio quality and clarity of the sound which one is better? And yes I know that any sound bar will be better, but due to space and other factors I won’t be able to get a sound bar along with the tv.
I think You Start Reviewing your TV's Hooked up on WIFI! That Way the WE in REAL WORLD will see the Picture Qualities! Most Owners are not Gamers, Most are Hooked up on Wifi with WEAK Connections. Also, try to use the most Popular Android TV boxes like Fire Stick/Cube, Apple TV, Nvidia Shield and some Cheap android tv boxes.
Just Tired of Reviews that looks like u guys are working in in Best Buys where all TV's are hooked up to a 4K Signal or even Commercial Signal Outlets…
Hi Tech Steve, I’m curious your thoughts on the U7QG versus the U8N? Basically are last year’s models of the U8 series still superior to new current models of U7? Thanks in advance. And thank you for all your insightful reviews.
The TCL look flat out better in virtually every single shot on this video. Color is more natural, weird since the QM7K has the same red favor and oversaturation seen on the Hisense, while Hisense U7 looks more natural than TCL QM7K. I just bought a 75" QM8K the other day, it's sitting right behind me in the box. Got if for $1400, couldn't pass it up.
Considering the Hisense is $600 cheaper right now in the 65" size…there is only one answer. Currently the 65" Hisense is on sale for $999 and the TCL 65" costs $1599. This may change in the future, but I can't justify an extra $600 (which you could spend on an entirely new entry level 4k HDR TV and get 2 TV's) for a TV that may or may not be marginally better. What would you want…2 TCL QM8K 65" TV's or 3 Hisense U8QG 65" TV's plus $200?
Hi 👋 Steve ,, We just Spent 2 days Setting up the TCL X11K in Store 😊😊😊 ,It is BRILLIANT 👏 👌 Colors are next Level , Brightness is just WOW , DETAIL and UPSCALING is better than the C8K ,, we did our Torcher Tests with SDR and HDR 😊 Totall Tone Mapping Looks more Accurate and stable at BRIGHT Levels 😊 We Noticed MACRO BLOCKING and NOISE REDUCTION isn't Noticeable , Edge Blending and no Ghosting are None existent 😊😊😊😊😊😊 At 85inch TCL X11K and SONY B9 are almost the same Price TCL is a bit less 😊😊😊 I'd go the TCL if you need the Head Room , and it has Noticeable Brightness over the SONY B9
I just want to correct something with this comparison.I watched a video where a guy actually opened up his QM8K and it has two up-firing speakers along with two down-firing speakers and of course the two subs.I have the 75" QM8K and even coming from a 65" Sony A95L I love it.The sound in my opinion is very good, better than on my A95L by a pretty wide margin,so if you're using it as a bedroom TV or something along those lines the inboard sound will be just fine.I bought mine for $1500 during Prime Days,@ $2300 I would have seriously looked at the U8QG,U9N or the Sony B7 because they're all very close in quality and performance.
Saw these 2 side by side at Best Buy today and only think I could tell was that the Hisense was just a little brighter than the tcl. What I do like about the tcl is that it looks more premium than the Hisense with borders and thinner
Had a U8N for a few days. It had basically zero DSE, no dead pixels, everything looked great. Until I realised that it had been collecting dust under the display after only a few days of usage. I sent it back and since I didn't want to risk Hisense again, I got a Q8C (QM8K in Europe). Although I liked the image quality of the U8N, my current TV is a significant step up in my opinion. Also has a great and clean panel. Sound is much better than on the U8N, and I read that it is even worse on the U8Q. The U8Q also has only 3 HDMI ports, which is not enough for my setup.
The naming can get quite confusing. For example the TCL QM7K isn't even available in Europe, I think it's called C7K instead, but is it really the exact same hardware, who knows? Also Hisense comes with Vidaa instead of GoogleTV here… Kinda annoying 😅
Great video you just got a sub i might replace my Samsung 70inch crystal soon. But, I'm waiting for tv's to start utilizing wifi 7 and, hdmi 2.2 when available. I'm a sucker for sound. The Samsung unfortunately needs a sound bar and, q symphony is a joke. But, the 65 inch Samsung qn900f is amazing and, plenty of sound for my room. So hopefully you'll drop another comparison with 2.2 and, wifi 7 when available but, I'm leaning towards hisense I know they'll have major improvements in the future. But, brands came a long way
I was dead set on getting a tcl 98” qm8k but another reviewer said it wasn’t worth it even after professionally calibrating it, he recommended the Hisense instead but idk if he’s done the 100”.
I like the screen on the TCL because it has a glass like look like an oled. I see the Hisense yesterday and wasn’t fond that the screen looked cheap. That’s just me being nitpicky though.
I mostly watch movies and gaming, with one sofa in front and one on the side.
would you still recommend the hisense over the TCL?
Great video. Thanks for adding upscaling info, that is important to me since I have a large DVD and Blu Ray collection. I like the Hisense color a bit better but the blooming issues would have me buy the TCL.
I have the Hisense U8QG 55 inch version model that apparently comes with an ads pro panel (IPS) which means less blacks and more blooming and let me tell you that's not the case, I still have the U8K model 2023 that have the better panel VA and the U8QG still have better blacks, another thing the reason you will see blooming in this comparison is because you have another TV on the side and make it more noticeable, that's going to happen to the TCL as well if you put an OLED panel next to it and that doesn't mean the TCL sucks, but when you have just one of this two tv's you will still see deep blacks and you will be happy, I don't know if someone is getting what am saying. I decide to go with the Hisense because it have better image processing and it was cheaper at least on the 55 inch model, I thought I was going to be disappointed with the ads pro panel but it surprised me, by the way I have it well calibrated is not with the out box settings which in any tv sucks.
TCL is really stepping up their game, and after buying the QM7 for my sons room, I'm convinced I'll be sticking with TCL over LG and Sony. Just way better value and the sales are crazy good.
THEY ALL HAVE SO MANY MODES NOW THAT … PICTURE ,,,, IS A MEANINGLESS TERM …. JUST GET THE TOP MODEL OF ANY BRAND AND CHANGE IT TO WHAT YOU LIKE… WHAT I THINK :))
Someone showed a rating that the u8qg had a base drop off on the frequency response. In that it has no base, hardly at all. Just dull rumble, is there any truth to that? Because I was getting ready to try one of those televisions
After months of research, I’ve decided to go with TCL8K. Plus Best Buy was selling it for $2700 over Labor Day weekend. With the additional discount, it was no brainer for me to place an order. Super excited since I’m replacing a 13yr old TV. 😊
Hisense is consistently on sale, and you can get a 75-inch for $2000 and under. TCL is rarely on sale and is consistently at $3000. Hisense wins hands down.

Who wins? You have no clue. Thanks for the decisive answer.
wait… so the QM8K earc has compressed Dolby Atmos passthru?

Do a video – Tcl Qm7k vs Hisense U7Q … Please

Im looking to get the Hisense, has anyone had issues with them?? I see people on reddit saying some are dying after a year or so
Which brand sponsored you?
qm8k or s90d $100 difference right now
I cant imagine choosing a 144hz over a 165hz. When i hook up my i9 4080 Predator laptop to the Hiesense TV, the truth will be known.
Yeah that blooming on hisense is a deal breaker. Huge difference.
The bloom control and also the text clarity in motion was much better on the TCL
Is bravia 9 still above both of them??

Hello Steve, I enjoy the videos. Im curious if you gave a calibration tutorial on QM8K for 98 inch?
TCL: Hisense
Sense: yo
Gurt: sybau🥀💔
Hisense wins for brightness, color saturation and image pop

Tcl champion ✔️
Tell me. It seems like the 2025 tcl TVs have a big loss in detail
TCL
How do you know which tv has the fuller potential without any calibration?
The naming can get quite confusing. For example the TCL QM7K isn't even available in Europe, I think it's called C7K instead, but is it really the exact same hardware, who knows? Also Hisense comes with Vidaa instead of GoogleTV here… Kinda annoying 😅

would you still recommend the hisense over the TCL?
I had got the QM6K and I hate how blurry the graphics and audio were. I’m afraid to even get another TCL.
Great video. Thanks for adding upscaling info, that is important to me since I have a large DVD and Blu Ray collection. I like the Hisense color a bit better but the blooming issues would have me buy the TCL.
Is the U8QG same as U8N?
I noticed anti-reflection tech on this U8QG, ideal for bright rooms. and looks like mediatek P800 also helps control adaptive brightness…
Looking to get only option in my region (here in Europe), as only Hisense U8QG are avalible here.
Hisense looks like it's taking a page from Samsung color profiles. Certain colors are just popping more.
TCL is really stepping up their game, and after buying the QM7 for my sons room, I'm convinced I'll be sticking with TCL over LG and Sony. Just way better value and the sales are crazy good.

Its all about 24fps motion . And it looks that TCL is better there.
Hisense is consistently on sale, and you can get a 75-inch for $2000 and under. TCL is rarely on sale and is consistently at $3000. Hisense wins hands down.
