When using extension cords for this heater. Its 1500 watts. That's about 12.5 amps. If you absolutely have to use one, make sure you get one that's rated for at least 15Amps and I wouldn't use one more than 10-12 feet long. People often ask what's the big deal? Well the thing is is that when you have a hot extension cord that has a sustained temperature for possibly hours at a time… doesn't take a genius to figure out how dangerous that could be, specially if you're using it in a space that is drafty and difficult to keep warm. If your cord doesn't say what amperage it's rated for, don't use it.
I’ve had my Dyson fan for years now. It still works in spite of the two years warranty. My suggestion to everyone is DON NOT LEAVE IT PLUGED IN when not in use. Usually my electric bill is a little over $200. When I first received it. I didn’t know any better, and left it plugged in. It ran my electric bill to almost $600 within a month while leaving it plugged in. Need less to say. I’ve learned my lesson. No more leaving it plugged in.
this is why i love the Dyson AM05 cause if you loose the remote you still have all the buttons on the front of the unit. thank you for the share 1 luv Reema nyc
"I had to put it on a pedestal or on a chair to elevate the air" (paraphrasing, sorry!) I have the same model, and the head tilts vertically to angle the air up or down a bit… It's not a full 180 degree turn or anything, but you can definitely tilt it to point the air up or down.
FYI–NEVER, EVER use a HEATING unit on an extension cord, 6-WAY or any other type of electrical cord to extend the length of the power cord. Doing so is a FIRE HAZARD and goes against UL safe measures. PLUG DIRECTLY INTO THE WALL RECEPTACLE ONLY. Thank you
Hello Tech Steve. Really liked your video. I just purchased a refurbished AM09 from Walmart. I am hoping that it will work properly. If it does, it will probably encourage me to buy other Dyson products. I intend on using it mostly for heat and would like to place the unit directly on vinyl plank flooring. Did you notice if the base got really hot and could damage flooring during your tests? Thank you for your "service".
Firstly a fan does NOT cool the air. You feel cooler because ANY moving air that passes your skin will remove some of the heat from your body, partly through evaporation of sweat. Any moving air will do this, even the cheapest fan on the market. Regarding heat, just look at the rating tab. If it says 2KW that how much heat will produce. No matter the cost. A 2KW heater will give THAT, no more no less. If it costs $30, or the rip of Dyson cost, it will still give you 2KW of heat. No more, no less.
I bought 3 of these I have one in the bedroom does not heat it very well the one in the lounge is the same I have it on 30c and takes all day for the room to get hot so I have got a cheap heater and the room now is hot love the vacuum and the hairdryer but not this heater 😮
Do you know how to f2 error in hot and cold Dyson am 09? I have cleared it but still no joy, don’t know how to open top off not sure if it does come off
Here’s the original video on the AM09 Hot + Cool fan from last year https://youtu.be/sWs0b7hQasU
You never turn it on. What kind of review is this. C'mon

have you run into problems with the heater error with this fan?

It's an expensive piece of junk. Lasted 2 1/2 years before H2 error came on. Shipping and repair cost more than the unit.
What about the battery life? Is it rechargeable etc

Very well done, especially about cooling function. Just functions as a fan cools.
I like the heater the fan is okay I guess
Any videos on how to clean this unit – disassemble? Not just poking in the dust in to the fan.
How do I clean it?
Thanks for your time
Why does the fan on heat start flashing H2 and have to pull plug from wall to turn off?
I have 2 and use them every day! Haven’t turned my heat on yet, in Massachusetts!!!
Nice video. You can store the remote control on the very top of the fan. Dyson designed a magnet in the top of the fan for that very purpose.
Gracias!

I'm kind of pissed. I paid a bunch of money for one of these things a few years ago and now all I get is an e2 error code instead of heat.
Costco Uk have them two for 489
You forgot the tilt function. Sorts out the floor issue.
With so many updates to these fans which address all of your cons, I wonder how'd feel about the more updated models (HP04 and higher).
5yrs later did you find out that your fan tilts up and down? 😂
Great objective review. Thanks!
It’s just a paperweight all the cheaper brands do it just as well for less
Blinking red circle and 112 error message remote does not work
I was that kid who put their finger in the fan 😂
one thing i dont like is the cleaning
If you push the power button and keep holding it it will put temperature up and down so you can control it without remote control.
Very informative, thank you sir
