Lowering the CAFE requirements is a bad move for the consumer. Cafe requirements forced the car mfr to meet a standard fleet average. In order to meet the requirement they would provide really good prices on their economic fuel saving cars. Now they have nothing to gain to meet the requirement. Not a good move.
