What’s your favorite type of TV in 2025? 😎
If Cleanfox is completely free and they don’t sell your info what’s in it for them?
❤
I did Q led because of videos you did a few years ago.
So, now in late 2025 what are affordable mini LED options?
Probably the most concise, best explained video i've seen on all the different screen types so far. Question for you Jon; With all the end of year sales coming up, do you think you get more for your money buying last years flagship at a discount, or buying this years mid-range heavy hitters? For example LG G4 vs LG C5, or Samsung S95D vs Samsung S90F?
Which one is better OLED vs QLED TV
Omg the bots in your comments are relentless Jon 😔 I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
Nice video Jon, my question is more on what do tv manufacturers do with the tvs in stores like Best Buy and Costco? Can you do a video on settings you'd adjust on each type of tv to get the best picture? Keep up the good work!
Samsung's micro RGB is not an RGB display, is an LCD, and is not unique. They are branding the TCL Mini RGB backlight/VA panel as their micro RGB backlight. TCL and hisense have the same panel with the same back light for much less. Sony will have one soon too all the same panel with samsung and sony using different processors to drive it.
The key point that needs to be made every time RBG mico is mentioned is that: 1) it is an LCD and is not an micro LED display no matter how much Samsung's consumer side keeps trying to trick people into thinking, and 2) it is exactly the same as mini RGB LED backlighting.
Question is what tv would Jon buy ?
❤❤ thank you 🙏🏼!!! Love 💗 it !
anyone remember the 3D Tv's hahaha
micro RGB is just the same old lcd tech we always had but with better BT 2020 colour coverage.
It's not a real competitor to qd oled that is the best tv tech we have right now
The best technology
1 micro LED
2 OLED – QD OLED
3 LCD (micro Nini RGB LED – mini RGB LED – RGB LED)
LCD (classic mini LED)
LCD (micro Nini RGB LED – mini RGB LED – RGB LED) is just an improvement and evolution
Sorry but forget LCD why even bother. You can get mini-lcd budget pricing form TCL and Hisense.
Hit the like button as a way of saying thank you? You should be thanking me for watching this trash!!!! Just kidding, thanks for the great video that doesn't great job dumbing these TVs down just enough for anyone to understand. I'll subscribe, you're now competing with Caleb Denison lol.
Every other tv tech fighting OLED is like the Raptors scrambling over Superman only to get tossed away and disabled like they’re Nothing 😂
I like C-LED from ebay (cheap-led)😂
❤
Great infos jon, thanks!
Excellent brief on 2025 TV Technologies. Also clearly shows that the 3D TV techs which were around about 5 to 7 yrs back ended up being a flop.
I hate changing TVs! Sometimes you can have too much choice.
Unfortunately, without expensive remodeling (and a ruined aesthetic) the location where my TV needs to be, is size restricted, and a 65" would not fit. Consequently, 55" is my limit – if only 60" were a common size.
The Bravia 9 was tempting, but, like so many other tempting technologies, the smallest size is 65". Quite different when I bought my premium 37" LCD, when you could still get a premium model at 32" – and to think that I was worried that it might be too big, how small they look today!
Fortunately, I have a healthy budget and can afford a high-end 55" OLED. Still, this left me with a choice between Samsung, Sony, LG and Panasonic. I have to admit, that I have found it incredibly difficult to decide which to go for. Having a local store with all four definitely helps.
All too often the reviews obsess over the smallest differences, and which is the absolute best, giving scores for every feature and making a judgement based on the overall score rather than how rounded it is. I still maintain that even though not reflected in the overall score, a close second in all areas is better than the best in most areas, but significantly trailing in one.
Also, as in the case of the final winner for me, the Samsung S95F, ironically, it was the most criticised feature that swung it for me. The anti-glare coating. Yes, it noticibly removes glare, but, for me, the disadvantage of slightly reducing the picture quality, only reduced what my eyes perceive as an artificial harshness.
Of course, reviews are helpful, but, in the end, you need to learn to trust your own senses and preferences.
It will be interesting to see what technology is around the next time I need to make a choice, and if OLED has a future, or, like plasma, is fading into obscurity.
Sound advice. We need all we can get.
I just bought the Samsung S90f, and for some reason YouTube non-4K content looks really bad. Anyone knows why ?
Hi samsung 77 s85f woled vs lg 77 b5 woled which one to pick ?? Watching sport shows movies
Hey @jon4lakers, any insight or thoughts on LG's "QNED" TVs? This appears to be LG's Mini LED technology and I was wondering if you have any experience using them. Thanks!
My dad still has a 42" plasma from ~2010 and Im always amazed at the color and contrast of that relic.
I’ve been debating between an OLED or Mini-LED upgrade for Black Friday, and this video was really helpful! I still think OLED is the clear winner for contrast, but QD Mini-LEDs are better than I was thinking. Considering the price difference between them (a QM7K is currently half of an entry level OLED in Canada), I may just go for a Micro-LED and see what the tech is like in another 5 or 6 years.
And here I am still watching my 39.5" 2014 Panasonic TC-40AS520U with zero complaints.
I'm just watching this video in case it quits working, as it's 11 years old.
OLED seems to be a stop gap until microLED becomes affordable, that fact that OLED is not as bright and has the potential for burn-in makes me stay clear. I want to own my TV and use it for a decade. My bedroom small sony 4K LED is still great about 7 years in and I never had to worry about burn in
Bro. I'm so fkn confused 😢
