BestBuy did a backup of my dad's old Macintosh computer using a WD easystore 8TB External Hard Drive and for whatever reason, I can not get my windows 10 to recognize it's even there. Any helpful tips? Thanks

I had a question: does this hard disk have to remain plugged into the mains to work? (because for me it doesn't work if I don't plug it into the mains). Can I disconnect the USB port and the mains plug without risking losing all my data? Do I have to disconnect the USB port first, then the mains plug? I couldn't find any answer in the manual, thank you very much.
