I like both TVs, and I almost bought a TCL 6-Series earlier this year. The QM8 is better, but if you can get the 6 series, most people would not be disappointed.
Respectfully I disagree with you in regards to Roku. Generally I liken the differences between various TV operating systems to the differences between iPhones and Android phones. They all do the same things, but they do them differently and have different extraneous features. The advantage to Roku is simplicity. A great many people need that simplicity. Just over 1/2 of the TVs in my house are smart TVs (1 Sony w/ GoogleTV, 1 LG w/ WebOS, 1 Insignia w/ FireTV, and 1 Amazon w/ FireTV). All of the smart TVs (and the dumb ones) have Rokus connected to them. It presents a unified experience for all of the TVs in the house. Shifting to Roku made my life significantly easier since I don't have to troubleshoot multiple interfaces.
Roku also tends to be much better for rentals (AirBNB etc). The Roku guest mode is an awesome option, allowing anyone renting short term to login to their apps, and have them automatically logged out at check-out.
Hello Steve, have viewed many of your videos in the past, but new to your channel as a subscriber. Looking for some guidance: I presently have a Samsung 75" UHD (UN75RU9000FXZA), connected to my Denon AVR-S750H receiver which I have connected my Fire Stick 4kMAX. With all the QLED, Mini-QLED, Neo-Qled and OLED not user which route to take. As many user looking to get the most bang for my buck, yet want Quality! I am not a gamer, but would take advantage in the future and purchase a gaming console. I mainly watch my tv channels via a streaming app, as well as watch YouTube content and Prime video. Since BIG is the new norm, looking at either 85" or 98". Guidance Please!! Thanks in advance, keep those reviews coming !!
Bought a R646 for the bedroom and following that pulled the trigger on the QM8 for the living room. Impressed with TCL so far! Got that warranty though for any shenanigans.

Hey Steve I still love my R635. It's one of my favorite tvs that I own. 😊
What do you think is the best 75-77” tv for watching mostly sports? Thanks
Does BenQ PD3205UA monitor has the usual desktop stand too? Or it has only Ergo stand? Waiting for the reply, Thanks!
