Hi Steve. This is Ratul from Bangladesh. First of all, thank you for this amazing video. Right now i am using a sony bravia w800c model and trying to find a newer model to replace the older one. Normally i watch movies or sports on TV. However i am little bit confused among sony x80j, x80K (55 inch), Samsung Q70B & BU8100. Could you please share which one will be best considering everything?
Which panel(or TV of any brand) would produce a better picture on older black and white movies? Another thing I am curious about, have you done any comparisons of ota reception on different TVs?
Can the x85k play movies at 120hz or is the 120hz strictly for gaming?
Or in other words can you set the tv to run at 120hz by default?
I own sony x80j , see i am not hdr movie viewer I mostly go for Sdr contents, and the colours x80j produce is superb (Better than x85K in many areas and good to eyes)
But it struggles in night scenes and hdr performance, if your priorities is HDR and or SDR Dark scenes then better buy x85k as it has better shadow details and brightness, for casual SDR use , go for x80j
If you are casual TV watcher and prefer SDR contents then X80j is killer deal , this TV can produce more good colours than some expensive qled TVs
Sony x80j 55inch is ips while 50 inch is va… Which one should i buy
VA panel wins on darker scenes but i like the color reproduction of an ips panel
Bought the x85k from Costco and the sales guy payed it flat in the cart amd wheeled it to my car and payed it flat in the car, 2 hours drive home like that. Then I see the tag to not lay flat. Should I bring it back or will it be fine?

ips is eye pleasing but .. reduce the brightness or any related settings on va panel to match that eye candy ips looks might helps as well right?? hahaha
the best reviewer, very detailed. I'm kinda conflicted, can one watch horror movies comfortably with x80j IPS panel, as most horror movies are mostly night scenes!?
I have… 43" Panasonic 720p plasma TV :). Still very good. But bulky :). I would prefer buy new Full HD Pioneer Kuro Plasma TV!
I have Sony k85k 43 inch tv and I can say my Samsung tzien from 2019 looks more crisp. The cost of my sony tv I think is expensive for the technology 120hz. Maybe someday they will reduce the prizes.
Ive had two x80 series ips g and h is the model i think and now with a new x85k. The color looks washed out compared to the ips panels. Im a little disappointed but hopefully ill get use to it since it is brighter and it has 120hz for ps5 use

Hi, yiu have nice comparision, but i have some questions. Can color on you video looks better on 80j cause camera or angle of view? Or maybe colors on 85j looks washed out because of big brightness? What tv better for sdr movies in real life? Also, do you see sone stutter or judder on some of this tv in 24fps movies? Just so hard choose between this TVs. (also, tv only for movies)
