Let me tell you that x85j is a GREAT TV. Don't always follow youtubers like these. I bought the same television last week and I couldn't be more satisfied. The black levels are top notch and I just can't complain. I think I really got the best TV. Do not go for x80j though as it's brightness is very limited.

I made 2 comparison pictures with and without bias light. I am using the LX1 Media Light Bias Lighting.
Here is a quick summarize why bias lighting is so important for any LED TV:
In Daylight conditions our Iris remains small because it already captures enough light this way. The purest white for true daylight is measured at 6500 Kelvin.
However in a dark room our Iris opens up and gets bigger or wider to see more. So it lets in more light.
Now if you watch directly into a TV in a dark room you are getting the full Brightness into your eye. But because each sceneary changes the Brightness, your perceived contrast is different each time due to the Iris having to contstantly adjust. This can lead to eye fatigue aswell.
LX1 Bias lighting eliminates this problem as it displays true white in your room and thus your Iris works in perfect condition, enabling you to see the true contrast you should see. In Daylight conditions you wont need bias light as the TV's outstanding native contrast ratio of 6300:1 already produces inky blacks. But in dark room bias light is a MUST to make the best for your bang.

Sony X85J unfortunately always seem to blow up the brighter parts of the image, losing definition on the bright color scales. Is this still because of the camera?? I suspect it really is how the TV displays in real life

Ok Steve, 43" shoot-out. Samsung QLED, LG NanoCell or Sony X85J. Your recommendation. Let's say user is doing content creation Adobe Premiere, some XBox gaming and watching some movies, needs to be as color accurate as possible.

Recently just bought this TV. What's your recommended setting for movie viewing and gaming?
I have recently bought x85J. There are some backlight which is seen at some part of the panel in complete dark (black) screen, but it is not uniform across the panel, some places it is black but some places it shows blooming. Is it normal? Or it should be uniform? This un-uniformity is not as much as x80j, but it is there. Kindly suggest is the panel faulty?
