Hi can u please answer I just bought the Hisense u8n 55 the side view is horrible almost unwatchable white wash is that fixable with settings or the tv is like that the front view is beautiful thanks
Is there a way to fix how red the screen looks while still getting the colors close per your calibration? The whites on the screen look super warm and are a little offputting
Really appreciate these settings! Purchased the 65" on BF. Plugged these in today and to my eye the picture looks the best I've had it so far after endless tinkering the last couple of weeks. What do you recommend for 4K Blu Rays with a Dolby Vision layer?
My 2 cents here after testing, tweaking and adjusting my Hisense U8N 65" for several hours.
– For one, the TV size is important. For example, the 55 inch does not have the same amount of dimming zones, which can have an impact on the settings. The 75 inch uses a different panel (ADS, instead of VA) and can also greatly impact the settings, especially the black levels and contrast.
– Warm1 is a BAD start, it turns everything into an unnatural yellow tint. Warm2 is MUCH better, still warmer than neutral but retains natural colors.
– Going extreme with the white balance is unadvized. +25 gain on green, -25 on blue? Sounds like an issue with the calibrating device or the TV itself. I never had to tweak more than +5 and -5.
– You said "Gamma calibration is set at 5%" which means NOTHING… The way gamma calibration works is by adjusting the gamma gain PER percent of input level. Anyway, this setting is hardly noticeable above 15% input level. You can try cranking the low 5 and 10% if you wish to uplift the darkest part of the image.
– For the Motion Enhancement to work correctly, you need your source to be played at native frame rate (eg. 24fps). If you hook a PC, make sure that your software player adjusts the frame rate to match the video's because the TV won't be able to discern the real movie frames within a 60Hz input rate. Kodi is an excellent free software with this option.
– The Motion Enhancement is one of the biggest let down on the Hisense. Coming from an old Sony Bravia TV set, I miss the Sony wizardry. I hate the sopera effect, but at the same time I hate the crazy judder. Finding the right balance is a bit of a challenge with this Hisense TV.
– There seems to be some subtle differences between the Picture modes, EVEN with the same setting values applied. I found that the IMAX Mode was brighter and had better color accuracy than FILMMAKER Mode so I went with the former mode for my HDR settings.
See below my recommended settings for U88N 65 inch.
Disclaimer: Mind you, I don't have a calibration device, I just went with what looked the best with the kind of content I am watching, ie. BluRay Remux, 2160p, either DV or HDR10. Some SDR content, especially old movies on BluRay in 1080p or WEB-DL from Netflix and Co.
Watching context: The TV is in a medium-lit room. All content are played on Kodi 21 Omega with framerate matching the source. HDMI output from a Radeon 7900XT using 4:4:4/RGB 10bit.

* I have not made any adjustment to Color Tuner and White Balance for HDR yet because I found the picture very satisfactory as it is. Perhaps, maybe, a boost on the yellow saturation would not hurt.
I use the 80/40/50 as a base and tinker from there. Just got the U8N 55" for Christmas. No dirty screen, incredible sound, and picture is crisp. Love it. Happy New Year
Thanks, Tech Steve-I was ready to give up on the U8N–65"Compared to my setting adjustments. and the stock set up that came. on the Hisense U8N -Your settings are perfection. I can't. understand why they are not calibrated out of the box-or at lease a acceptable calibration. The software setting were perfect for streaming and Cable viewing. Thanks Again, and for a nice presentation.
Пользуюсь месяц, очень доволен. Но не знаю как и с каким саундбаром хайсенс реализовать функцию hi concerto??? Не могу найти информацию. Например u5120gw+
Awesome video stepped. It stepped me right through it perfectly we do. We've got the new 65-in 8u and wonderful fantastic improvement on picture. Thanks for what you done and just keep on doing what you're doing. Very helpful Santa Greg 🎅🤶👍🦌
The 2point adjustments made my whites really muddy. Definitely could see greens and reds intensely in white text and it made it a little tan. Ended up reverting to my own calibration preference. Although the biggest complaint about this TV so far is the refresh rate, flickering when light sensor is on, and lots of noise in the picture beyond the focal point. Also the audio delay over e arc I can't get to match. Need decimal values of at least .5 or .25 to get it spot on
Hey Steve I’ve had my u88n 65 (Canadian model) for a few days now and I love it. The one issue I’m having is figuring out how to use the pip or Picture in Picture feature can you help me figure this out??
What's also really annoying with this TV is the Google menu system or any software control overlays do not calibrate. You're stuck with a very unnatura oversaturated image when browsing the YouTube menu for example. My TV also had a strong green tint in the auto color space. What's funny is I also have a du7200 Samsung that you also reviewed that had perfect colors out of the box and it was much cheaper. Makes me wonder how much money we really should be spending if hdr or peak brightness isn't a concern
I did try your settings on my u8n 65 inch. Definitely made the picture too green. I would also probably use auto color space because native is oversaturated for standard content. I eyeballed mine compared to my lg OLED I knew was pretty accurate. Biggest difference was neg 5 green offset to lose the green tint and neg 20 red gain for more natural skin tone. Those two settings made the biggest difference
Trying to decide if i should return my tcl qm7 55 inch which is the 2024 model for the hisense u8 which is also the 2024. Paid 309 open box for the tcl at best buy. Ive heard so much about the Hisense u8. Im just so undecided. Someone help. Lol
Gonna purchase the u8n today. Returning the TCL qm7 for it. Is there an update for the Hisense like there is for the Qm7? Hopefully I've made the right decision for the Hisense instead of QM7.

Would this work for 85”?
I need to leave a comment on here later tonight.

I just got my 65u8n and some of the menus you went through had more options than I’m seeing. I checked and I’m on the latest software version.
Thanks! I have the 85” version and these settings gave me a great baseline and looked really good.
Really appreciate these settings! Purchased the 65" on BF. Plugged these in today and to my eye the picture looks the best I've had it so far after endless tinkering the last couple of weeks. What do you recommend for 4K Blu Rays with a Dolby Vision layer?
Do you think ur settings would be a good baseline for the Hisense 100 U8?
Should I just limit your changes to one setting or apply to all as would still want different setting options.

I just purchased the 75 inch Hisense U8 series mini-led and when I’m watching sports it’s extremely laggy. It’s like the motion judder is messed up.
Im in the USA and have the u8n. These settings made my TV very green and overly warm 😂

I just bought the U8N 75" in the UK and unfortunately it doesn't work.
Does the calibration apply to SDR or HDR ?
How do you get the settings to pop up on the bottom like that?
Could you please suggest settings to watch sports like football/soccer or f1. Tried multiple combo but it looks grainy, not smooth

Thank you so much, I used this on my 85" and it turned your skin from red to it's natural color! You're the best! Sub'd!
