In the settings for the U8H there is an option to upgrade by USB. What does this mean? I searched all over for an answer and found nothing. As always excellent videos. Very informative. Whenever someone i know is considering a new tv but not sure what model to get I tell them to watch your reviews. Keep up the amazing work. I hope you and your family are doing well.
I would love to see more examples like at 9:02 … i am about to get the U8H and didn't want to make the wrong decision. The U8k does seem slightly brighter but it also looked washed out and not as punchy color as the u8h in that green field and white mountain at 9:02 …. Great review!
…. Almost forgot, Another thing i saw on another review was something about the u8k having AI Super Resolution feature, and the way the reviewer explained it was that it made things more 3d looking? And that the u8h doesn't have that, but that's not really the breaker for me, unless it really does make things 3d like, but the main thing my concern is the brightness, where the u8h looked brighter on that skyscraper scene. but not as bright as the intro scenes, looking brighter on the u8k , is the u8k really that much brighter? very confusing, but still thank you for all the help, awesome videos!
The U8K is 1400 bucks in my area in Canada ( unless you guys can find me a better deal ) and the U8H is 900 bucks at a store near me. Both 65 inch. If I go for the U8H, its still 500 dimming zones vs 1000. Sometimes more zones have not improved the contrast. I think I would just go for a OLED at 1400 bucks because 500 more dimming zones for 500 bucks more isn't worth it. Also the U8H is said to have inky blacks and 900 bucks gets you TV's with average picture vs the close to OLED picture. If I can get a U8 at 1000 maybe 1100 then I would buy it. What would you get ?
I understand that Hisense in the past has had issues with storage failure in their TVs causing bootloops. Im curious if the major increase in storage capacity for the U8K will increase the TV's longevity as it has more storage thus typically more endurance in terms of write cycles. I guess we'll find out over time.
I really like my U8H for the most part butbi do have issues with the screen totally cutting out in very specific scenarios and the only waybto bring it back is by doing a reset. Only issie ive had but a pretty annoying one when im gaming.
Sux the U8H doesn't seem to available anywhere anymore, my 65" decided to dim out in the center of the screen and can't find anywhere to buy a replacement
During that gaming run you had, notice how there are some very faint black bars almost scrolling up through the screen on the U8H. I don't see that on the U8K, so IMO the U8K is better for gaming.
Can I disable google TV and turn it on straight to last input on the U8K? I have an elderly mother that would be very confused with google tv and turning it off is best for her. She just wants to turn the tv on and have it go straight to her channel. I noticed a previous brand of Hisense (U6H) allowed you to turn off google tv and boot straight to last input used. Does the U8K have this same option?
Thank You Tech Steve you helped me make up my mind on what tv is the front runner witch is the U8K instead of the U8H. However I have an older 2011 42" 42LK530 that is pre 4K 1080p model so anything will be better then that. I can't believe I have not replaced it yet since it is still alive and kicking. I'm looking for a smart tv mainly for gaming and tv streaming. 55" is the perfect size since a 65" is just a bit to big for the room that I want to put it in and in this particular situation the viewing angles are not that important. I have looked at other LG, Samsung and TCL but I just keep coming back to the Hisense U8 models for what I'm looking for. I use mainly Amazon and Apple so I'm also looking for the tv with the best interface for those brands. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Dont buy a U8H. That's what I bought a year ago and it's panel has already failed. A technician had to take it away and I'm getting a U8K Exchanged for free. Good customer service, but U8H has terrible longevity. Look at the TV longevity 1 year video from rtings
The newer hisense 4k tvs are now restricting playback on movies on a usb or HDD they no longer play all the dolby vision profiles. My older hisense from 2022 plays absolutely everything dolby vision profile 5 dolby vision profile 7 and dolby vision profile 8. Absolutely bloody ridiculous so bloody annoying. Will not buy hisense anymore
With the understanding this review is 8 months old. Did you experience any issues with panel quality? I have the 55U8h and I've noticed significant banding. I've heard the U8K has a feature that smooths out the banding. Is this true and in your professional opinion how does it look? Any loss of image quality? Keep up the amazing work as always. Hope you're doing well. Take care.
It’s insane how much of a difference there is in the sound. Add the fact that they fixed the banding issue. The U8K is a great product. I have to upgrade from my U8H due to my screen having a group of blue pixels. Thank God for Best Buy’s warranty. I will now look for your video on the U8N (assuming that you have one).

Regarding the banding on the U8H, did you run the firmware update? It fixed a lot (not all)of the banding on mine.
The 8k looked and definitely sounded better. It shook my phone 🤳 with so much bass⚡🔊🎵

Tell me hisense u8kQ has any hardware differences from u8k? in our market, only TVs with Q are sold
Considering U8H and U7K are now in the same price range. Which one should i go for?
Can anyone help please?
Does U8k have more blooming than qm8?

Does the height matter with off angle viewing? My tv is mounting above a fake fireplace. So its higher then my eye level. But i can tilt it.

Just picked up a u8h for 250 from bestbuy 👍
still rockin' my U8G
I turned all the Google stuff off and it’s not hooked up to the internet. I run everything through the Appletv 4K.

I have the U8H and the panel went out slowly over 2 years until the hdr and the banding made it useless. So thanks for addressing that.
