What ambient lighting kit are you using?
I was so excited to get this and that half a second it takes to change colors when gaming really hurts my eyes
so wait what does this actually do? I have the fancy LEDs sync box atm, but what does this
Phillips hue thing do? Just seems to do the same thing as the fancy LEDs

WOW so they deactivated the hue sync tv function on Ambilight so they could sell this instead? colour me shocked. im pissed that i wasted money on an ambilight that cant sync with any of the other philips appliances i dont own

Because I have a TCL tv and the same Ikea thing and the surface is reflecting… so I'm afraid to get a camera.
But I don't want the syncbox to only work if I'm using my Xbox…
I want it to work while using the tv itself.
So if the Phillips hue thing only works with LG tvs then please maybe recommend something else.

I have that too. and worked flawless for a while. but after 9 months. now 90% of the time the lights do not turn off when the TV is turned off, and I need to go into the hue app on TV and fix it. major pain. I still love the way it looks, but I wish it still worked consistently. if anyone knows a fix let me know. AI said this is a common issue

Don't support a company that charges you for an app almost as much as the actual syncbox. The fact that they give you the option to get the app as a subscription service is just disgusting

Govee is best for price, Philips is overpriced but have many options for the smart lights in the eco system.
Looked cool until you see that you have to pay a monthly subsription to use it.. no thanks!
