Put those old harddrives back to use and install them is this enclosure. It's easy to set up and works well!
There is now a 3.1 Gen 2 output enclosure! How loud is the fan? I will be sitting next to my desktop, which is pretty loud itself.
I just ordered one of these and was wondering if it came with a USB 3 cable and if it requires all 4 bays to be filled before use, which wasn’t covered in any of the documentation I’d found for it. You answered my questions. Thank you!
Didnt know there was more tech guys on youtube. lol BTW isnt that model like 4 years old already?I saw someone selling one 2nd for 35 bucks but now i see there is no lan connection for NAS. :/
I hate that they have to say "suports windows… and mac osx…" when it's a standard USB/sata device
Very timely for me. Thanks!
Thanks, Steve, for your explainations !
This was the worse hundred bucks I ever spent. What a waste of money and time.
YOU'RE THE FUCKIN MAN THANKS
you havev a firmware update for thiS?
What the hell kind of a video was this…I hate saying anything negative about any video, cause I know you put work in, but you totally missed the point of buying an enclosure like this…which is the RAID support for redundancy, etc. I own this device and it is awesome. You need to get better at this if you are serious.
Do you think Mediasonic or Qnap enclosures are more reliable?
nice that it supports up to 16TB of drives…what happens when 20TB comes out? no support? had the same issue with the IVIEW 4 bay enclosure. After I bought it, none of my 4TB drives worked. iview support says too bad so sad, only up to 3TB is supported. I put in 1TB WD green drives, and only one is recognized. I give up. no idea what tot do.
I'm the newest person on this page to look at his video…. can i gets a thumbs up oh and is this 4bay thingy compatible with 10tb Ironwolf nas drive
Is there a firmware update? I have two unused HDDs in the bay. I plug it and nothing. I have a HP All-in One computer running Windows 10. Don't know what I am doing wrong.
Can i Switch Each individual Hard Drive On & Off?
Great video! I'm about to buy this but I was wondering if it could be possible to make an RAID array with this enclosure. Do you know anything about it? Thanks!
جيد 👍
i have the 8 bay version
i have two 14 TB HDDs in there
When i boot the case up it shows 4 spots in windows 10(Odd i have only 2)
They show as USB Drive (O)-(R)
But none are yet auto detected like you showed
DISK management shows them as "Removable" but says "No media"
There is no option to initialize these or allocate them. They are not recognized as WD drives, just as a removable drive with no other infos or way to initialize or allocate them
Any advice is appreciated
i thought this was plug n play
The drives BTW work and read in other cases
Now that you've had this device for a while have you experienced any heating issues with your installed hard drives? And if you were to use the eSATA feature does it see all four hard drives like the USB would? Or do you have to purchase it a separate eSATA card to be able to access all the drives? Thanks great video!
hey steve thanks for the video. I am trying to have the enclosure turn off when my PC shuts down. The blue synch light is on however, it is not shutting down. I have to manually turn the Enclosure off. Any advice?
what happens if i plug in hard drive that already has data on iit, will it ask me to format it?
I wished you have shown the interface and sync button how it works.
Caution: it appears this company is out of business, or at least every page on their website says "Forbidden" for me.
Is there a way to minimize that buzzing or humming noise when the enclosure is powered on? I thought it was the fan, but it's not.
Fart Line is my favorite show.
Hi Steve !
My Q/A is…..
Sorry in advance if you answered this Q/A in your comment section,
I use my externals to watch saved Movies and TV shows that I have save over time,
I connect the drives in a 4K Media Box wh8ch then is connected to my TV.
unfortunately I have to constantly unplug the drives and reconnect other drives that I want to watch, very inconvenient.
My Q/A is
Will be able to watch my my movie through this Bay?
Thx Bud !
why I saw one with Mediasonic ProBox 4 Intel Core i3-4130 / 8GB RAM ! I wonder it has ram or software like mini pc
Thanks' Steve, for sharing that with me peace .
