There it is! I love having the Best Thermostat controls on my Google Nest. It makes it super easy to adjust the temperature when my phone is nowhere to be found.
i don't have a nest account, when i got the nest protect it wanted me to enter the google account so i did. Now when i go to add the device to google home it only wants me to enter the nest account details which i don't have. Cannot find any info on this to fix it
Everything is set up where I can operate the thermostat through the Google Home app, however; when I try voice commands the Google Home says that this feature isn't set up yet and to go into the Google Home app to get it working. I can't find any way to do this.
@steve this is a randome q – sort of (un)related to the video – please bear with me. I have multip;le homes on my G account. Is there a way to rationalize(combine) these? I added a member to home and they had to create another home and they have three!! thanks in advance!!
This no longer works as it's integration with Google now. My wife did the Google integration and only shows up on her Google home app. Now I have to figure a way to delete mine and have her as main person on the hub.
I have two nests for dual zone and I set up WiFi on it then it automatically connected to the google home app since I’m running mesh routers. The problem is I can’t connect to it to control it from my phone because I can’t find it. When I try to log in through the nest app it says it’s not allowed because it’s already set up on home. I try adding it but it won’t let me log into the nest app when that option pops up. I’m at a loss of what to do here.
Was setting up Nest Thermostat. Nest app is working. Got to the "Allow" step and it fails with, "Oops, we have encounteredan error. Please try again". Using Andriod s10+ with OS up to date. Guessing it is trying to allow a set of settings. Do you know what and how to do manually?
Hi @techsteve, could you please help me? I am trying to connect my Nest Thermostat to the Google Home app but when I try either setting up a new device or Works with Google options, it doesn't work. Specifically, when I use the option, Works with Google, I try to link my Nest and Google accounts but it says that I've already migrated. Shouldn't this mean that I can just add the Nest thermostat fairly easily to the Google Home app then? I have tried all different types of ways but still can't get it to work. I have a Nest Mini so that it can connect as well but I mostly use Amazon Echo's as my primary smart home assistant devices. Any help would be appreciated!
The problem I'm having is that my est account has been migrated to a Google account, which means that I'm unable to sign in with a nest account. Is their an option to sign in with a Google account?
I can’t get beyond “Allow”. I see “Oops ! We encountered an error. Try again.” The really frustrating part is, that it DID work before I had my A/C serviced. The A/C tech disconnected power on the roof to service, and after he finished, I no longer had the ability to link with Google Home Mini. Every tutorial I follow results in me getting halted at this step. I factory reset the Nest Thermostat & reconfigured it again from scratch, reset WiFi tower, scanned the Nest’s QR Code, typed in the 6-digit Set Up Code in the “Add Device” menu . . . I just can’t get beyond “Allow”.
He Steve, does the google temperature sensor(s) also works with a Google Nest Hub (2nd generation)? So, will it work without the "Nest Learning Thermostat" and the "Nest Thermostat E"?
If you have the problem of being unable to link the thermostat to 'google home' I finally got it to work by 1) removing the thermostat form the nest app 2) logging out of the nest app 3) deinstalling the nest app 4) reinstalling the nest app and logging in with my existing google account (all of this are steps I did before) 5) restarting the phone 6) without me doing anything more suddenly the thermostat is just present in google home … magic?!
This does not appear to work with the new Google Nest Learning Thermostat Gen 3. When you get to the point where you try to link the accounts it says "some devices need to be setup in the Nest app".
I'm trying to install a new nest thermostat. The regular version. After I scan the QR code on the back of the nest thermostat it continues to say looking for devices and then it wants to setup my Wi-Fi which is already set up. How do I get past this?

Does not work for user without a Nest account. Tried to log in with Google account, it shows me wrong password..

Why am I being able to turn OFF my nets thermostat by voice command in the app or my google nest mini, but I can’t turn it ON?

regular nest will not install no matter what actions taken…back to the store for better. Others are having the same issue with Nest Thermostat
