my friend i m confused which one to buy as getting bose solo 5 soundbar @ very good price . can u suggest my use is only for my bedroom tv approx 250sqft area and i m concerned only with the sound out especially the dialouges what shud i buy solo 5 or tv speaker .. plz guide
Would you still be losing sound by going from a soundbar with a subwoofer to either one of these ? Our trusty old LG sh4 300 w output with subwoofer has died and I’m so confused as what to buy
I noticed you mentioned specifically that tv speaker is roku tv certified. Is that the reason why I can't seem to connect my tcl roku tv with the 2231 code to use with the solo 5 universal remote?
TY for your video… in your video are you referring to a Solo Soundbar Series 2? If so the end of your video suggests that a bass speaker could be added is that possible to add a bass speaker to the Solo Soundbar Series 2 and what kind of connection would I use to make sore that both speakers are connected together. BOSE TV speaker can be used to connect Samsung smart monitor too right, since both have HDMI ARC. Thus turning off the TV will switch off the Bose TV speaker automatically.
Although music is how many evaluate a soundbar, quite frankly I think it would be more helpful to listen to actual TV programs to hear what they sound like since that is primarily how the sound bar will be used.
I am using BOSE SOLO 5 for almost 3 years as my Computer Speaker. its sites below my ultra wide monitor and Does it Jobs almost no computer speaker can do.
Does the sound quality change between using the HDMI vs the optical? And do you still have the ability to control the dialogue mode if you choose to go with the HDMI connection?
I'm looking into one of these for a Desktop computer. I like the Solo 5 but hate the huge remote. Would you recommend the TV speaker for a PC? Thankyou..
I think I have a weird situation. My Bose speaker looks exactly like the solo 5, has the same power brick, but it came with the small remote and has "Solo TV Speaker" on the back. It looks nothing like the Bose TV Speaker here though. Did Bose sell a "hybrid" at some point? I bought this brand new and it came like I just described.
I have the solo 5 it sucks, bass sucks and you have too really turn it up to actually sound good but it also bottoms out fast the drivers are too small for the bass there’s not enough plastic channeling in this model. Plus it’s old no hdmi arc. Can say about the latest one, but why would you even bother I’m definitely getting something else.
I like the speakers, but I don't like it that they don't add that sub with the bar. Can you recommend a sound bar that has dolby atmos that is around 30" long?
We’ve had a BOSE SOLO for over 5 years mounted below a 55” Sony tv mated to a Mantle Mount bracket mounted over our fireplace. We are constantly amazed at how natural this speaker sounds. Voices and dialog are crystal clear and even music sounds really good. And depending on the source there can be some hefty bass. We paid $99 for it 5 years ago on sale at Sam’s.

bose solo5 has an extra port at the back under the sticker, any idea what its for? its right next to the usb socket.

Great upgrade in sound to my movie watching experience in my bedroom.
I have a Vizio sound bar with wireless sub and it sounds great but it's a bit much.
The Bose is pretty powerful for it's compact size too!
