love your videos. Thanks for all your hard work. I have been saving for my next TV investment. Looking at the QN90B, QN85B, and the Sony X95K. This will be an 85" screen size. I have full control of the lights in the room, and of course still saving as these are rather expensive. I don't want to make a mistake in choosing and neeidng peoples opinons on them. This will be for sporting events, streaming tv, and some movies and of course ps 5 game play (Limited). Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
My 55” Samsung has gone back after 10 yrs…Sports is my thing…I’m thinking that I’ll stick with Samsung…I’ll let you know after I get it & set it up. Thanks for you’re review.
I purchased the 55" X85J last December and have been mostly underwhelmed with it. It's seems that 1080p content looks fantastic and even some 4k content looks good. 4K HDR content looks terrible, I've tried the built-in apps, firestick 4k and the apps on my Xfinity box and they all have the same "washed out" or "foggy" look to them. It seems like the brightness and contrast are too high. I've messed with the settings quite a bit and if I turn the gamma and black level way down it's better but for shows like the new Games of Thrones House of the Dragon it's way too dark. This is my first 4k TV and it's sad that my 8 year old cheap Visio 1080p in my bedroom looks better with most of the content I watch. I do however enjoy watching your videos 🙂
Great review. I have an x90j and 85”x85j. I love my x90j it’s flawless picture quality for its price. I love the google OS. I enjoy my 85”x85 because it’s big but not 100% happy with the black levels or the backlight clouding. I have purchased a bias light for this issue to hopefully reduce the clouding and improve the contrast.

I would like to make a suggestion though. When comparing image quality, there is no sense in using anything but a pre-calibrated mode, like movie or filmmaker mode.
All other modes are set up to look good on a store front when demoing stuff, and the manufacturers will tune them differently as they don't have to follow a specific standard (adherence to a color space, a specific gamma curve etc). Thus when you are comparing the image on standard picture mode, you are comparing apples to oranges.
I have the X85J in a 65 inch & it has a beautiful picture and great sound. It replaced a Samsung 8000 series that I used a sound bar on. No sound bar needed on the Sony. Also the Google operating system is very fast & easy to use. I have Roku on my other TVs, but did not add it to the Sony because it was not needed.. Thanks Steve for your channel..

I like the channel but it's an unfair comparison, it's Low-end QLED tv vs Midrange Sony LED TV, of course, Sony will be better at almost any point. It would be best if you compared Q80A vs X85J or at least Q70A.

Q60A is for me because of the black levels and viewing angles. I have Q80T if it's somewhere near the black levels i'll be happy
Sony x85 is a competitor to q70. Q60 is a competitor to x80j tbh. But I think US prices of Sony are lower.

I just picked up a 55 inch X85J on a open box special for 300 buck's, perfect condition was just a display model.
I like the channel but it's an unfair comparison, it's Low-end QLED tv vs Midrange Sony LED TV, of course, Sony will be better at almost any point. It would be best if you compared Q80A vs X85J or at least Q70A.

2:38 the picture to me is a Lot better on the samsung the sony has all sorts of artefacts banding and oversaturation going on there
