What do you think about this 4K UHD switcher?
UHD 402 for 2 displays https://geni.us/NNtJ

Is it possible to use a splitter for 2 soundbar for just 1 TV? Just want to use 2 S801B soundbar on my frame 2022.
BIG QUESTION THAT A LOT OF SAMSUNG 4K screen users have!
Samsung tv models after 2018 doenst support DTS-x or other DTS codecs on the tvs so when you hook up your xbox one x or series x on the HDMI port it only supports Dolby Atmos. I have a Denon AVR-x2600H receiver hooked up but his doenst support Vrr and that very importand with gaming/ Can one of your settups be used to set 1 hdmi kable to hdmi tv and one to receiver so i can get DTSX via receiver and get RVV HDR to my port of the tv?
Would i be able to plus an ARC soundbar into an Input and video working on both outputs?
Why do I get no sound when I connect blueray player through hdmi switcher ?
Your a lifesaver. appreciate you showing all the different configuration
This is great!!! This is exactly what I've been looking for! And this is the first video to really explain it well and give excellent examples!!!! I have one question. I thought this could be my solution, but there may be one roadblock. I have an older Samsung tv with 2 HDMI ports. Neither support ARC. I currently use one port for my Xfinity cable box and one port for my Roku box. I am getting a Roku streambar hence the need for an extra port and one that would be an HDMI-ARC port. It does come with an optical cable which I could use if I didn't need to use a switcher……Since there's no option for the optical cable to plug in to the switcher and the output going into the TV isn't ARC support – am I SOL?
Or do you know of any comparable products that offer that, too?
Ok I’m a new subscriber as of today. I’m so glad that i ran across this video today. I had already ordered a different brand today. I wasn’t completely sold on if it would take care of my audio needs. First of all I couldn’t find a pdf manual describing the different hdmi arc selection available. So I immediately cancelled my order in time. I’m pretty sure that the one that i almost bought only had one selection for arc. So I kept looking and ran across your video describing exactly what i needed. My need was to connect to my soundbar and have my other devices play through my soundbar. My tv is the Q60T 70inch 4K. My soundbar is the Q60T . So I’m extremely happy for watching your excellent video. Your personal time and expertise is greatly appreciated!!!!
Ps. Oh yeah I ordered this Orei 402 from Amazon this evening. It was $50 bucks and will arrive by Wednesday next week.
Keep up the good work young man.
Solid!!!!
Hi Tech Steve, I have the same Samsung tv you have here. I noticed whenever you would switch Game Mode would turn off. Does the Samsung Game Mode work with this device?
I just bought a Tu700D and after getting home realized new 75" TV did not have as many HDMI ports as my old unit. I failed to check it before I purchased. This little black box will help me with what I needed. Your video was helpful so thanks.
I just purchased the Cinema II and will be connecting it to my Nebula Cosmos Max 4k projector and will also be using my Firestick 4k through the projector as well. How do i connect all of this via HDMI? I also have optical audio cable as well.
When I connected my new Samsung sound bar B550.. to this converter, there was no sound coming out of my DVD player which is also connected to this converter, can you please tell me why it does not work? Thanks
Hey, I'm astounded by your white board schematic. Very good stuff and, mirroring it in the real world with the peripherals laid out neatly on the table? You rock, my friend!
This is the best explanation I have seen! Question….can the arc hdmi port on the TV be used to plug in a gaming console, or is it for output only?
hello. how would this work with 2 displays and a soundbar? which display would take control of the soundbar? and where would the audio from the 2nd display come from? thanks in advance. just working on a set up for myself.
No mention that this will not direct an atmos embedded steam into any av config only dd. There isn't a true pass thru with this box… You have to spend a lot more if you want to use it in a true home theater system
Excellent superior content as always
I followed this specific video and connections on my Samsung TV and it still didn't detect the device . I restarted it, switches hdmi ports, and even ran a diagnostic on the hdmi cables and those turned out well. No issues, but the device itself is not recognized by my TV. I only had 2 device connected to it and it's my ps5 and x box series s. If I disconnect this hdmi matrix and plugged in either one of the consoles on hdmi 1 port, it recognizes it as a gaming console, Even when plugged on the hdmi port 2 which is labeled earc. Is there an answer to this issue I'm having?
what if you have a soundbar?
I have a soundbar with 2 HDMI ports (1 ARC OUT, 1 ARC IN). The TV has 3 HDMI ports (1 ARC IN, plus 2 HDMI IN). While I'm getting HDMI audio output via the soundbar I'm not getting same from the cable box/Cable TV. Can someone help please? Here's an outline the situation:
I made the connections as outlined: Soundbar HDMI OUT (ARC) to TV HDMI IN (ARC). PS4 HDMI to Soundbar HDMI IN. I have cable TV so I connected the cable box HDMI to one of the additional HDMI IN available on the TV. Now here's the problem:
While everything HDMI works fine with PS4, TV with sound coming through the soundbar, when I switch to cable TV (via changing TV's Input) I get no sound via HDMI. I've also gone through all the settings on TV to select SOUND: Audio system/Soundbar.
What I had to do was to utilising the optional optical port on the soundbar connect an optical cable to the optical port on the TV in order to get sound coming through the soundbar.
So as it stands (for the soundbar) I'm getting HDMI for the PS4 but optical for cable TV. But I'f prefer to have HDMI for both PS4 and cable TV. I even bought a 4×1 HDMI switcher and followed instructions and the issue remained the same.
What am I missing or doing wrong? What do I have to do to get the cable box to connect via HDMI for sound output to the soundbar's audio via HDMI and not optical as currently obtains?
Hey Steve, thanks for this! I have a question, i have two monitors and i would like to connect both to a PS5 and a PC. Is it possible to have a setup where i can game on the PS5 and watch videos on the PC using the same speaker set?
Is there an hdmi switch that can work with the controller that came with the tv to select an hdmi output? Thanks.
This is exactly the video I was looking for. Coincidence that I wanted to know how this works with my Bose Soundbar.
Also coincidence that I play DOA 6 a LOT
Hi Steve I have a Samsung tv with 2 hdmi 1 is hdmi arc and I have samsung sound bar 990b with earc . Would this unit give me dolby atmos if I was watching Netflix films or Disney plus ?
Good video does this one support Dolby Atmos and Dts x?
Thanks for the coverage in this video, Steve.
Great video! Very clear and concise.
Thank you for an excellent explanation of just what I was looking for! Huge help!!
Hi @Tech Steve,
I have similar switch, I have issues with getting sound from speakers connected to AVR receiver for different sources.
My TV ARC hdmi port is connected to the OUT port of the switch.
HDMI OUT port from the receiver goes into input 1 from the switch. (this is the only difference from Bose TV Speaker, which is IN)
MY CABLE TV goes into input 2 from the switch etc…
ARC is set to ON in AVR setup menu and TV audio setting is set to HDMI sound system (which detects ARC active).
Any suggestion from your side?
I bought the UHD 401 and the only problem I have is that I have to manually change the output from tv speaker to my sound bar. When I had my soundbar connected straight into my tv's hdmi arc port it would automatically use the sound bar. Is there a way to do this while using the UHD 401?
Currently, I have the soundbar connected to the hdmi arc input on the UHD 401. Then I have the UHD 401 connected to the hdmi arc input on my Samsung tv. My soundbar is samsung as well.
Do these switchers support Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision passthrough as well? I'm looking at getting a device like this that I can run my PS4, Blu-ray Player, Nintendo Switch, and soundbar to my AWOL Vision projector (4K, 3D, Atmos and DV). Thanks!
EDIT: I just found the OREI UHDS-401A on their website. Is this a good fit for what I was mentioning? Thanks so much
Thank you, you just saved me a lot of money. I didn't know the difference between a switcher and a splitter. I have that exact TV you have on your video. So now I know I have to buy a switcher to connect all my games, soundbar, and direct TV Thank you very much I appreciate it.
if I have sony Bravia KD-85X9000H that have 1 hdmi Arc port
and I want to connect
1. soundbar HT-A9
2. Apple TV box
3. bluray
4. headphone JVC exofield
which model of orei to buy for this connection / thanks
Good explanation!
Question, can I do the same thing, but connected to an HP monitor?
I want to do the same thing of having several devices connected and have the audio output through the sound bar, but connected to a monitor (without eARC)
what if you have two different soundbars?
Hey! Does anyone know if there is something like this however with 2.1 hdmi ports with 120????? I need this but just a 2.1 hdmi option 😢
This video was super helpful. I bought the TESmart 5×1 Switcher two years ago, but it only worked for like 2 weeks, and never worked properly, so I had to resort to plugging and unplugging things. I want to buy this one now but this video is 3 years old. Is there a more recent version that I should be looking for instead?
Will this automatically switch to whichever input you are using? I have a Roku TV and I'd like for it to switch to an input for a game system when I turn it on with the game controller. Then if I turn on a different game system when the other is off, can it automatically switch to the input for the second game system? Hope that make sense. I'd like to not have to use another remote if I don't need to.
Just tried this exact method with one display and a soundbar with arc. I get video but no sound
Hi,if i connect my amplifier ARC out to the Orei Arc in,and from the Orei ARC out to my TV,,,,once i turn my amplifier on would it turn my TV On Thru the Orei switch?
