Thanks Steve very helpful, buying one of these still not sure which one but Hisense may have a better warranty. I watched a few other videos and they left me with mixed thought…leaning Hisense though. Accidentally knocked over my 55' Samsung plasma TV, stopped working, taking my time to replace it. How would a plasma stand up to these two.
Come on t Steve, you've got to know how washed out the Hisense looks on youtube video. I've spent enough time looking at these 2 in person to know they are incredibly similar, ur killing it in this video on a bad way homes, I do prefer the TCL in the end personally, but in person it looks nothing like that, much more contrast and color like the TCL in this cut
This is the best comparison between these two. I am inclining toward U7N 75" to replace my 8 year old 60". Question: I have a Bose V30 5.1 surround system for over 10 years now that I love which has optical audio port too. Can I connect U7N with my Bose using optical ports for audio only? Will I be able to connect Cable box, 4k Blu ray player and gaming console (future purchase) via HDMI cables to U7N for video only and get their audio only through Bose via optical ports? I would like to use Bose V30 for audio only with this TV. Thank you in advance.
I know this video is a few months old but during Xmas shopping I was in Bestbuy and the TCL tv was the dimmest TV there, I even asked the associates if it’s in eco or if someone played with the brightness and he showed me the settings and it was 100 and still looked dim. It put me off the TCL because my living room gets pretty bright sometimes so ended up buying a UN7 (from Costco, for the extra warranty)
i think the TCL looks way brighter. found you as I am looking for a bigger TV. Have 2 TCLs right now and have had ZERO issues with them. one is played every night for several hours in bed. have zero complaints. as you said, both are equally as good from your video. just wanted to say having had my TCL for 10 years, have no complaints.. thanks for the info!
my 14 year old 47 inch 3d ViZio has a better picture than this. I ordered, a 55inch Hisense U7N It is dull on some channels and bright on others. inconsistent and side vision is horrible.
I decided I am going with the Hisense. I read reviews from both tv only issue I mainly hear it’s washed out on side viewing. The TLC has red issues and people reporting lines down the tv out of box or after few days having tv. I am getting the Hisense for gaming mainly and watching movies. But if people watch a tv for movies I would suggest a Vizio. Vizio last longer
Just ordered an open box 75 qm7 with the out the door price of $647 (had $300 in gift cards sitting but finally put to use)🎉 from Amazon. Christmas in February

As of 022825 the QM7 is roughly the same price as the U8N across the board. I was able to get an 85" U7N for $500 less than an 85" QM7. The 75" U7N was $350 less than the QM7. At the moment the U7N is a no brainer over the QM7 at these price points and the U8N is the obvious choice if you want to spend the extra money. (at Best Buy)
The Hisense clearly has issues in that game mode. It looks crazy washed out next to the TCL… fast forward to today where there's a class action lawsuit on Hisense for selling defective motherboards in their smart TVs. OOPSIE
Wondering if I should be concerned about the Hisense faulty motherboard lawsuit? Both have current lawsuits concerning false marketing because neither are true QLED TVs.
I was up for buying either of these two but ended up with the QM7 because I found an Open Box Excellent one at Best Buy for $602. I don't regret it for a second.
Rtings commented on how red shifted the TCL was out of the box… they weren't kidding. You would think they would take 2 sec to load a more accurate factory calibration.
One thing that is overlooked with most brands is the lan connection being limited to 100 mb. With today’s internets levels that’s so slow. Sure I connect wifi around 650 mb via wifi but my 1 gig speed would be better!
One important thing about the Hisense that most reviewers surprisingly don't seem to mention is that is has adaptive sync (Freesync Premium Pro). So when your gaming on and XBox Series, PS5 or in particular a PC connected to one of the HDMI 2.1 ports it matches the framerate that the console or GPU is putting out, eliminating screen tearing without compromising the performance. This makes it a FAR superior choice for gaming and arguably one of the best TV sets on the market for a couch gaming PC set up.

I definitely see what you mean with the reds — even before you mentioned it. I wonder why that is?
On the other hand the white cast effect from the Hisense screen would probably annoy me more.
They both have issues with vrr so if gaming is important to you then Hisenses issue has less interference to the game. Check out rtings for more info

Its unfortunate that the QM7 is stuck with 802.11ac WiFi 5, but the TCL C765 (EU/Asia version) has 802.11ax WiFi 6 and the U7N also has it

TCL doesn't look so red as the Hisense looks green to me.
These are both $499 right now. I'm torn. I will use it for series x and watching 4k movies. HELP ME DECIDE!
I have a Samsung Q90T (2020 flagship) would a u7 or u8 be an upgrade from a performance and visual standpoint?

Way too much white light the U7N for me personally.
I wear glasses when I game and it creates some gnarly glare.

I bought them both, for 90% of ps5 gaming. I loved the TCL A LOT more and returned the Hisense.

Is the QM7 the same as the C755? I am in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, and we do not have QM7.
Did they drop the price of the qm7 because its all the same specs as the u7n but for cheaper and it has more nits just doesnt have wifi 6e?
