Hisense just arrived in Brazil. I know this tv is great and despite thr fact the fact that everything is expensive In brazil, the u8n 85" is "cheap" compared to other tvs of the same size. My question is…their tvs break easily or they last for years?
Hey just one question. Do you know if the 75" u8n does have the VA panel like the 75u8k did?
Hello guys, please help me choose a 65-inch TV. LGC4 or Hisense UXKQ. Or maybe this year's U8N? For a sunny room. Thank you for any response.
It’s has an eARC?
Hey Tech Steve!!🤜🏽🤛🏾 Please talk about the connectivity of the cell phone, and if they TV remote can connect to the cable box, if so, walk it thru step by step!!……..Thanks!!👍🏾🎓
I don’t understand your 480 problem? I have had no problem whether it be YouTube, plex or bluray.
Thanks for the info. I picked up the 65 inch last week. Still playing around with the picture. So far Filmmaker Mode is the best. Question: You mentioned in this video that you can use both the tv speakers and your external speakers at the same time. I am trying with a Sony Z9f, but can't figure it out. Any tips would be appreciated. Great tv for the money. 🤔
Was looking at a 55" U78 or U88, is it worth an extra $200?.
Hi Steve,
Does picture degrade/desature in game mode?
I’ll never understand why these manufacturers would give you a stand that doesn’t allow for a soundbar to sit under there without blocking some of the screen?
Thanks for this look at the U8N
I am looking for a replacement TV for my 2007 model Panasonic 50" Plasma (Which BTW has been a great TV up until about month ago. The sound has started to stutter some, and now the picture is pixelating frequently. I cannot complain a bit though, getting 17 years use from it. (It was about $1500 back then, so only about $88 per year when you pro-rate it – haha)
I assume nearly anything I buy now will be a suitable replacement, when compared to my old one (Though that plasma screen was super bright, and the audio was among the best I have seen on a TV)
My budget is ideally around $700, but I am willing to stretch that to about $1100 if it means a remarkable difference in the end product.
I have not been to stores to look yet. I have only been doing the research online. I found the U8N 65" at Best Buy for $1100
Based on the picture quality of the old plasma (Brightness, etc) – should I hold off and get an OLED TV? (It seems like those start around $1300 and go up to near the used Chevy price range)
We are older, and not as tech savy as we used to be. What we consider great viewing quality is an iPad Air (about 10"?) or my Omen laptop with 4K screen (about 15"). Our old set is just a 720p resolution, and we have never felt like the quality was bad or anything. I think most of our programming is only at 1080p, so we felt we were not missing much over the years)
We are not gamers, and we use Spectrum cable and the streaming services from the Roku stick for 98% of our viewing. The other 2% of the time, we may watch a DVD or Blue Ray movie. (So, we are not power users, but being retired, we do have it on about 15 hours every day for normal broadcast channels)
Thanks for the review and I am looking forward to your thoughts on this model for us, or if you think we would not notice the difference in a more modest $600-$700 TV, based on how we use it and what we have been using for the past 17 years?
(65" is the largest that will fit in the spot, and in reality, a 55" or 60" would fit a wee bit better.)
Thanks again!
Good review I'm in the market for a new TV and I think I've found it thanks to you.
My 65" Hisense H9F is starting to crap out.
Sorry if you answered this somewhere in the video but is the UI in 4k or lower res like previous models?
Steve right now the Hisense 75 U8N is $1299.99 and the TCL QM7 75 inch $998.99.Which you recommended me for movies.
Is it better then the u88h ?
Man I was just in best buy today, I've been watching you're videos for the last week as my TV is dying. I wasn't sure what I was going to get but they had a U6 on display and a U8, the videos really don't do it justice. They had the U8 next to a $2300 OLED and I could barely tell the difference. I think we'll be going back to buy the U8N. There isn't a big enough difference to pay $2000 over a $899 U8N. Great videos Steve, so hopeful and gonna hit that subscribe button!
Want to say thanks you answered all my questions on your video thank again
Good job sir😊
Just got a u8n 85 inch hop I enjoy it
Will there be a amazon Christmas sale? i wasn't able to buy the U8N during black friday.
Is the 55in version worth buying? It has way less dimming zones compared to the 65in
Do you loose viduals when you stream youtube from your phone to a tv thanks
Hi, I just bought the Hisense U8N 65" model, it is AMAZING, I reviewed and reviewed it in every channel available, because I had a Samsung Q60A '21 model, and I wanted an upgrade, I had my doubts about a Chinesse brand, but Hisense has conviced me. I have only 2 weeks with it, but I love it. Yes it´s too bright but just adjust the brightness and you are fine. The picture, the image, the sound. I don´t have a PS5, I just have a PS4, not the PRO, but on gaming looks amazing, I can´t wait to get my PS5 and play on it. So far, so good, and pleased. SEE YA
I bought a 55-inch U8N in July. I loved it, but the backlight came on randomly, multiple times a day, while the TV remained powered off. Hisense sent a tech to replace the boards, but the backlight was still coming on. Hisense sent me another U8N, and the backlight came on again. Hisense won’t send me another TV and is issuing a refund. I will return the TV to them. I use a Yamaha stereo receiver and floor-standing speakers for audio. I have an older Oppo Blu-ray player and a cable box. I only use the eARC HDMI input on the TV. Everything is plugged into the receiver. In reviews I have read for the U8N, I do not see the backlight randomly coming on as a common problem, if ever, and it makes me wonder if it’s the TV or something on my end. If you were me, would you try another U8N (or instead try the U7N to see if that makes a difference)? Ideally, I want to stick with Hisense because of how great the TV is for the price. I also don’t want to go bigger than 55 inches. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts you have about what may be going on or assess what you would think of doing if you were in my situation.
Hello, Steve, can you tell me, which is better the Hisense u8n or TCL QM8 for movies and gaming in HDR? I understand that the U8n isn't a 10-bit However, the TCL is.
Im looking at bestbuy and for the 55 inch it shows 3000 nits not 1500 nits
I think it’s between this tv or the tcl qm8
Güzel bir video. Teşekkürler
All I'll buy now. Great color and brightness, have a 42" and 65". I do see a 75" in the near future.
It should be stated that since the dimming zone number and density on the anything above 75" on U8N are nerfed for their size, the QM8, QM6K and probably the edit:QM7 are going to be better values for 85" and above based on light performance in general, even though the 85" and 100" U8N prices are pretty enticing.
I just saw the 55" version of the U8N at best buy and the viewing angles are near perfect… why does everyone talk about them being bad or needing to get the worst version (ads) models for better viewing angles when i just saw first hand that that's not the case ?
What is the vesa mount on the 65" u8n? The hisense website and manual vesa specs differ.
Would this tv work good for watching sports
It's a shame hisense will not launch this in India.
How do games look on pc at 1080p 244hz? Do u have any videos demoing this?
Love your reviews Steve! Picking my u8n up in ten days. Can’t wait
This one is now 947, the 2025 version is 1,499…over 550 bucks more. NOT rich, but if the 2025 is 550 bucks better…I would buy it…what do you think ?
I wish they had a 43 inch qled 4k 120hz tv
I have the 65 inch u8n it's amazing for my ps5 and xbox series x!
i bought the 85 inch for the same price as my 65 inch oled lg. and damn if i only had to pick one than i wouldn't know which one to pich. the hisense does almost look like an oled except sometimes you can see some blooming but it's rare, but hisnseu8 is twice as bright. for horror films, scary movies, space movies lg is so much better because of the infinite contrast. But for any other type of media that takes place during the day, like sports or cartoons or video games with explosions or action movies, hands down hisense u8 is so much better! super bright, twice as bright, and when big explosions happens they pop! it literary hurts your eyes when those explosions happen!
Watching this after getting the 55" 😢
Tech Steve. Please. Im begging you. PIs tell me how you were able to manually switch between the HDR and dolby vision modes. PLEASE. I have the 2025 ver though so idk if that'll change things.
Just got the 85 size for my parents and it has really nice picture quality. They are very happy with it. They love watching tv lol
Question I’m goin to buy this tv soon should i get the 65 or the 75 i had a 65 u7k 3 years ago should i get a u8n 65 or 75 ???
Hi Steve, I am considering buying a Hisense U8N 65" but I'd like to know if the picture will lose it's luster if I only use streaming services over WIFi? No cable, no gaming devices, etc.. My concern is the quality of streaming sports and movies via Netflix, Prime and YouTube TV. Can you advise me on this?
Hey bro, I need you to clear up an existential doubt for me. Is there really a huge difference between the 75-inch Hisense U8N with ADS panel vs. the 65-inch with VA panel? I mean, the blacks don't look deep in the ADS? I've seen few reviews of the 75-inch and I want to know why it's on sale on Amazon. I want to buy it, but I don't want to screw it up.
I bought the U8N in July, 2025. I’ve messed with the picture settings for hours and days and have gotten it dialed in and it looks fantastic!
Here are my settings for the Hisense U8N 55”: I watch it mostly in a dimly lit room.
Picture mode: theater night or filmaker
Brightness settings
Local dimming: off
Peak brightness: off
Brightness: 18
Contrast: 44
Black level: 0
Dark detail: off
Gamma: 2.2
Active contrast: off
HDR enhancer: off
Color: 50
Color temperature: warm1
Color space: native
Hue: 0
Clarity
Sharpness: 0
Smooth gradient: low
Super resolution: off
Noise reduction: off
Motion enhancement: custom
Blur reduction: 10
Judder reduction: 10
Turning up “blur” and “judder” makes the picture really crisp and clean looking. The picture really POPS when you do this.
Motion clearness: off
