Great video as always. I bought the 85" QM7G on sale, and loaded the QM7K firmware on it. Works perfectly, no red tint. Adds Filmmaker mode. 99% of the QM7K for $500 less. BTW, when you were checking picture modes, the 7G was at 100% while the 7K was at 25% so it made the G model looked blown out.
Great comparison! I do wish for Tv Testing Time, you would run each TV through some measurements, showing their max brightness in SDR and HDR, in 2, 10, 25, 100% windows. I know TCL SAYS the QM7K is UP TO 3,000 nits, where the QM751G is around 1500-1700, but in other reviews, they found their brightness in the 65" model to be almost nit for nit. Test in both Filmmaker or Movie mode, and in Vivid, to show for both purists and people who just want to juice brightness up for next comparisons, please. Maybe QM7K vs QM8K??? 👀
I have the QM7G and after I used your settings the red tint went away and better picture. I agree that TCL listened to us and you don’t need to do anything to the K picture
Steve: Not sure why you used February 113 firmware on the QM7 but the April 117 firmware from 2 months ago fixes all of these issues as well as adding the EXACT same game bar and settings as the QM7K enjoys. Had you tested this firmware, you would have a much different outcome.
Why wouldn’t you use your settings on the g series if better and have a calibration video of it. This helps me none on comparison of picture. Other videos are great
Getting ready to purchase the qm7 2024 model in the 55 inch. I wonder if a update could be used for this model. Hopefully I'm making the right decision. Getting it for 375 bucks at best buy.
For anyone with a 2024 QM751G I highly recommend you manually update your firmware from V113 to OTA V201 (download found in the AVS Forum). This gives the 2024 model the same settings as the QM7K including FILMMAKER mode and vastly improves motion, accuracy and color out of the box.. That includes skin tones and the red push displayed in Steve's video.
This review doesn't make any sense, as you used the QM7 pre-calibrated settings. QM7 definitely requires collaboration to produce excellent picture quality. On the other hand, TCL ships the QM7K TV post-calibration as default. This comparison is between the worst picture quality of QM7 and the best picture quality on QM7K.
Only the QM8K is a significant improvement over last years model according to rtings.. If last years model is significantly cheaper, it is the right purchase since if money wasn't a concern, you would just be buying the QM8K

I haven’t seen many ask this but what about the TCL QM7K vs the 2024 TCL QM8?
The QM7G is a completely different TV after the 2025 firmware update.
