Hey Steve, can this projector play movies from a thumb drive, or external harddrive? Or do you still need to hook a laptop up to it and run the movies through the pc?

Just bought this projector and been testing it out today. My only gripe is when I play media off a usb stick it starts with blue screen and says “media file not supported” then begins to play the media. Wanted the slideshow to loop but after it’s done it goes back to the “media file unsupported” for a sec then continues to play the media. I had this same problem with my previous projector so this must be an issue that’s reoccurring. The usb drive is formatted to Fat32 but i don’t believe changing the format would even solve it. It still plays the files from the usb drive but that message always pops up first even after replaying. Very annoying. Thoughts? 🥲

What sucked is I bought this projector and when I booted it up the brightness options did not work so it stayed dark the whole time. I'm in the process of having it replaced.

Nice review, but are you sure this is actual 1080p projector? Lots of these cheap android projectors are actually 720p despite what they claim as "native resolution". You can tell by testing with 1080p test pattern.
